Visiting Assistant Professor of World History

Dr. Rahul Nair will join Antioch College’s faculty from Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where he has served as assistant professor of history since August 2012. Previously, he was a member of the faculty at the University of Denver as assistant professor of history, from 2005 until 2012. Nair received his doctorate degree in South Asian history from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006, after graduating with an M.A. in history from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. His areas of specialization include South Asia, imperialism, and world history. He is currently working on a book titled, Debating Demography: The Rise and Decline of India’s Population Problem in the Twentieth Century. He is fluent in Malayalam, French, Bengali, and Hindi.
