Chef—Dining Services
Antioch College is seeking a full-time chef.
The Chef will manage and assist in the preparation of food for service, manage the food and equipment budget, execute the daily tasks to a high standard of cleanliness and professionalism and assist in the training and managing of kitchen employees and volunteer staff. The Chef should also be ready to contribute to the Antioch food service program as a whole on a creative and innovative level.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Collaboration with other team members in the development of weekly menus
- Management of kitchen staff, including creating work and cleaning schedules
- Oversee and manage the preparation of food for daily meals
- Create a catering program
- Prepare and cook meals for students within the established meal service times
- Interact with students and staff in a polite and professional manner at all times
- Assist in the creation of a community kitchen and HACCAP certified facility
- Source and introduce new products and ingredients in accordance with our food policy guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Order, receive, check and put away supplies and food
- Help maintain organization and cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas at all times
- Train employees and volunteers on a continuous basis
A minimum of three years food service experience is required. Management experience including budgeting, ordering and training is highly desirable. Must be servsafe certified or able to pass a basic food safety course by time of employment. The candidate should be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of food allergens, special dietary restrictions for health and safety reasons and a basic knowledge of religious dietary laws. Must have the ability to read and understand instructions and recipes as well as the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be able to perform under pressure in a moderately loud environment. Candidate must also be able to continuously stand and frequently lift 25+ pounds.

Director of Alumni Relations
Antioch College is searching for a director of alumni relations. Reporting to the vice president for advancement, the director is a member of the College’s advancement executive team and is responsible for providing strategic direction for all aspects of the alumni relations program in partnership with the administration and the Antioch College Alumni Association. The director of alumni relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that systematically engage alumni and provide tangible benefits to alumni, current students, and the College.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Engage an enthusiastic community of 14,000 alumni at a particularly important and exciting time in the College’s history and provide a strong alumni relations strategic vision, developed in partnership with the College’s president, vice president for advancement, senior advancement colleagues, and leading alumni volunteers.
- Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
- Implement the College and alumni vision through collaborative leadership of the Antioch College Alumni Association and its board, committees, and chapters.
- Charged with securing commitments from alumni to provide professional expertise and volunteer service, while partnering with Advancement colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni giving.
- Lead the alumni relations staff and provide the guidance and support necessary for their professional success and personal development.
- Work with the chief communications officer in the creation of alumni communications including, but not limited to, e-newsletters, print newsletters, social networking sites, and the alumni section of the website.
- Responsible for planning and implementation of alumni reunions and events, both on-campus and off-campus.
- Primary liaison with the alumni board. Helping to define goals; manage committee membership; and plan meetings, agendas, and locations of meetings.
- Travel will be required in support of the national network of alumni chapters. Expansion of chapter membership, events, and volunteerism will be a priority.

- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a program that is similar in scale and complexity to the current alumni relations program.
- A high degree of comfort working throughout the U.S. and internationally with cultural sensitivity and an optimistic approach to work, supported by a strong work ethic, attention to detail, an outgoing nature, and warm personal style.
- A strong affinity for the institution and ability to support the College and its educational mission among its various constituents.
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles, working closely with the college president, senior administration, volunteers in the alumni association and the board of trustees.
- Experience in fields such as educational advancement, not-for-profit administration, marketing, and other client-centered professions.
- Requires a friendly, collaborative leadership style that is well-suited to management in a complex College setting comprised of multiple constituencies.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Strong writing, planning, and organizational skills. A proven ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.

Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of three years related experience.
- Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Preferred: Advanced degree and a minimum of five years of relevant leadership experience.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge.
- Preferred: Additional experience, specifically in alumni relations or other advancement disciplines including major gift fund-raising, annual fund leadership, marketing, or communications in higher education or corporate environments.

Media Art—Adjunct Instructor
Antioch College is inviting applications for an adjunct instructor in media art for Summer 2012 to teach basic media production. This course provides a practical overview of media art production. Students will learn the essentials of camerawork for still and moving images, image correction, video editing, cinematic language, sound recording, and composition. Topics include file formats, light and color, digital compression and conversion, appropriate technology, citizen journalism, and the digital divide. The position starts on July 9 and ends on September 20. MFA or master’s degree in a related field required. Applicants are expected to demonstrate effective teaching experience in a liberal arts curriculum.

Visiting Professor of Language (French)
Antioch College seeks applications for a one-year visiting appointment in French for the 2012–13 academic year. Applicants must have native or near-native command of French, and a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition or French Language and Literature. In addition to evidence of successful teaching experience (including language), candidates should demonstrate a commitment to quality undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment. Experience teaching in proficiency based programs as well as using technology in the classroom and online teaching is desired. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The appointment starts September 1, 2012.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach classes of all undergraduate levels in French language and culture. In addition, applicants will be expected to be closely involved with student advising, including language placement interviews and developing an individualized language learning program for students.
