Join a Trailside volunteer for an interactive program with our live Box Turtle and Black Rat Snake.

Join Dave Jansen for a walk through the woods looking at the many uses of plants found along the way. Families are welcome to join the hike.

Join volunteer Daniel Person on a hike through the Glen to catch a glimpse of spring. Bring your cameras to capture the beauty of the stunning wildflowers of Glen Helen. This hike lasts approximately two hours and is of moderate intensity. Departs from Trailside, 1pm.

03.15.2010   10am-2pm   Skip-the-stairs Day
Want to stroll through the Glen without the barrier of the stone staircase? Glen Helen volunteers will open the Yellow Springs parking lot and will be available to suggest easily navigable trails. Seniors, families with young children, and persons with mobility restrictions welcome. Yellow Springs parking lot off of St. Rt. 343, 10am-2pm.

Usher in spring with an early morning birding hike. Join Glen Helen Executive Director Nick Boutis and catch a peek at the first spring migrants as they return to the Glen. Departs from Trailside Museum, 9am.

03.20.2010   10am   Volunteer Training Series: Geology of the Glen
Join Rebecca Jaramillo on an up close look at the unique geological forces that shaped Glen Helen. Hike will proceed in light rain. In case of heavy rain, hike will take place on March 27th. Hike open to current and perspective volunteers, and interested public.

Join the Wright State University astronomy club to celebrate the first day of spring by gazing at the stars. Look through the many high-powered telescopes to peer into the heavens.
