Snake-naming Contest

On your next visit to the Trailside Museum you may notice that we have a new animal ambassador! This Eastern Corn Snake came to us from a local resident, but remains without a name. We would like your help in “coining” the name of our new friend!  Come to Trailside between now and April 6, 2012 and deposit your coins to vote for your favorite name. We will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with varied hours throughout the week. Proceeds from the vote will go to Trailside animal care.

Trailside Museum is the weekend welcome center for Glen Helen Nature Preserve. Visitors to the Glen are encouraged to stop by the Trailside Museum before exploring the trails.

The museum features hands-on displays and exhibits that are designed for children to get an up-close experience with nature. Trailside Museum offers scheduled, guided programs for Elementary school age groups, and is the starting place for many public family and adult programs.

Want a program at your school or group location?  Please visit the Extension Programs page to learn about our traveling programs.

Please note: Trailside Museum is held open by volunteers only. If you are interested in volunteering at Trailside or elsewhere in the Glen please contact Brooke Bryan . Please call 937-769-1902 to confirm hours prior to your visit.
