Civil Rights Cinema Series - "In the Heat of the Night"

On August 4, Antioch College's Arthur Morgan Fellows presented "In the Heat of the Night" as part of the college's Civil Rights Cinema Series. Before the film, Dr. Dan Shoemaker '92, a scholar of American Culture Studies at Bowling Green State University, gave a presentation about the repercussions of the civil rights movement in Hollywood

The Civil Rights Cinema Series was presented in conjunction with “Oh Freedom Over Me,” a multimedia exhibition at the College. The exhibit, which runs through September 30 at Antioch College’s Herndon Gallery, features dramatic photographs by members of the Southern Documentary Project, video news footage, documentary audio and music from the civil rights movement.
