Pranav Jani, “Putting Criticism to Work: Teaching Across Borders in the 'Post-Racial' Moment”

Pranav Jani teaches postcolonial literature and culture at Ohio State, with a focus on South Asia and Asian-American literature. He is one of the co-ordinators of the Asian-American Studies Program at Ohio State. His book, Decentering Rushdie: Cosmopolitanism and the Indian Novel in English is forthcoming in July. His articles have appeared in the collections Marxism, Modernity, and Postcolonial Studies; Globalizing Dissent: Essays on Arundhati Roy; and A Historical Companion to Postcolonial Writing in English. Dr Jani is also an activist and organizer involved in contesting the current U.S. policy in Iraq and Afghanistan. He contributes frequently to on-line journals on Asian and U.S. politics.
