Obituary: Marian Christine Chilson

Marian Christine (Roller) Chilson of Heritage Corner, Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2011. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on October 17, 1919 to Harry Morell Roller and Anna (Bodin) Roller. She grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and Canfield, Ohio and graduated from Boardman High School in 1937. She graduated from The College of Wooster in 1941 and from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1944. From 1944 to 1946, she was secretary to the President of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She married William Wallace Chilson on July 6, 1946 and they were married for nearly 47 years, living from 1949 to 1987 in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Her husband preceded her in death on May 30, 1993. Also preceding Mrs. Chilson in death was an older brother (Harry Morell Roller, Jr.) and two younger brothers (Richard Bodin Roller and Joseph Leonard Roller). Surviving are four children (David Warner Chilson of Bowling Green, Ohio; Christine Anne Berardinis of Hinckley, Ohio and Longmont, Colorado; Helen Louise Lenz of Racine, Wisconsin; and Carolyn Nancy Palmquist of Arlington Heights, Illinois) and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Chilson was a long-time member of Bethany Covenant Church in Lyndhurst. More recently, she was a member of Weymouth Community Church in Weymouth, Ohio and First Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green, Ohio. Services will be on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 North Court Street, Medina, Ohio. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a service at 10:30 a.m. and burial in Medina Center Cemetery on Fenn Road
