Richard Henry ""Dick"" Sill, 84, of Circleville, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Circleville. He was born September 22, 1927 in Cleveland, the son of the late Henry Joseph and Helen (Nemec) Sill. He was a graduate of Antioch College and received his MS in Chemistry from The Ohio State University. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Dick worked at E.I. Dupont as a chemist and retired after 33 years service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Circleville, and of the 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA. Dick was preceded in death by his son Daniel Sill, sister Marjorie deGiovanni, granddaughter Angela Jankowski, and brothers Theodore and Robert Sill. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Frances (Geis) Sill, whom he married on October 20, 1951; children, Lise (Ted) Jankowski, Richard (Jackie) Sill, Fr. Theodore Sill, Catherine (Chuck) Steinhauser and Henry (Marci) Sill; grandchildren, Ian, Aaron, Sage, Joshua and Zachary Sill, Karl and Katrina Steinhauser, Stephanie Manuel and Moriah Sill; several great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Mary Ellen) Sill, Donald Sill and Henry J. Sill; and sister, Virginia (Ed) Douglas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 134 W. Mound St., Circleville with Fr. Theodore K. Sill, Celebrant and Fr. Theodore Machnik, Concelebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
