Obituary: Margaret Clark, former Antioch College staff

CLARK, Margaret (Carter) passed away in the Glaesner Health Center at Oakwood Village, Ohio, on November 12, 2011. She was born April 26, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Clark of 61 years, whom she married on December 18, 1943; her parents, Brindley and Mary (Smoots) Carter; her grandson, Brian J. Turner and eleven sisters and brothers. Margaret (""Marge"", ""Margie"", ""Mom"" and ""Grandma"") and John had five children, Johnetta (Eddie) Jaudon of Springfield, Mary ""Kitty"" (Dr. Arnold) Mindingall of Birmingham, Alabama, Charles (Melanie) Clark of Springfield, Norma Clark of Springfield and Douglas (Kris) Clark of Cape Coral, Florida; grandchildren include, Fred Turner, Benate Jaudon-Talbott, Annette Morris, Tylsha Yancey-Jaudon, Jon Mindingall, Melissa (James) Sallee, Joi Mindingall, Melinda Clark, Megan Clark, Christopher Clark, Chad Clark, Charlton Clark, Malachi Clark and Kennedy Clark; eight great grandchildren, Jasmine M. Yancey, Isaiah Yancey-Morris, Brianna Turner, Kaitlyn, Kristen, Kendra, Kyle and Kelsey Sallee; a special adopted grandson, Eckan Forbes and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clark grew up in the church and ultimately made Phillips Chapel CME her church home. She graduated from Springfield High School and worked at Wright Patterson, Antioch College and retired from Oesterlen Home. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Norma Clark and her niece, Kay Robinson. Margaret loved her family and enjoyed having large family dinners. She was known for her delicious apple pies. She was the glue in holding her family together and she will be greatly missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. in the Phillips Chapel CME Church, 230 Fair Street, Springfield with Reverend Dr. William L. Land and Pastor Ernest C. Brown Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
