Obituary: Charles V. Taylor Jr. '49

Charles Vincent Taylor, "Chuck" age 86, passed away in December, 2011. He is survived by his four children, Steve Taylor, Lesli Taylor M.D., Mark Taylor and Leigh Taylor by his first marriage to Valene Blake, by his granddaughters, Andrea Taylor and Kristin Bass, and by his sister, Marilyn Stuber, and her children Andrea Loud, Stephanie Rutowski and Mark Stuber. Chuck was married to the late Jean Taylor, his second wife for 28 years and resided in Tiburon for 34 years. Chuck is survived by Jean's nieces Dianne Horn and Susan Hooper, and Jean's nephew Eric Weinreich. Chuck was born in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Emma Taylor and the late Charles Taylor. Chuck attended Steubenville High School and Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Chuck was a World War Two veteran, a Sergeant in the Army Air Force Weather Service, trained at Denison University and Harvard University, who served as a meteorologist in the Pacific Theater. Chuck was employed by the Richardson Merrell company and General Mills as a marketing executive, as Vice President of Marketing for Guild Wine company, and as an employment recruiter of candidates for high level executive positions for Management Recruiters International. There will be a memorial service for Chuck on Sunday, January 22 at 10:00 AM at the Novato Community of Christ Church, Novato California and also a graveside service at 3:00 PM at the Galt-Arno Cemetery. It was Chuck's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charity of his friend's choice.
