Obituary: Betty Cooley Crumrine

CEDARVILLE - Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Preston Cooley Crumrine, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, August 19, 2012. She was born March 16, 1924 to the late Chester M. and Ruth E. (Corry) Preston in Springfield, Ohio. She grew up in the Clifton, Ohio area and graduated from Cedarville High School in 1942. She married Harold Turnbull Cooley, July 29, 1945, who preceded her in death in 1987. She worked as secretary for the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church and retired from Antioch College in 1989. She was active in the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, KYN Club, Research Club, and Grange until her illness in 2003. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert & Jack Preston; son-in-law, Robert Saunders and great-grandson Joshua Caleb Cooley. She is survived by a son, Charles P. (Deanna) Cooley; daughter, Cathy (Bill Hicks) Saunders; Grandchildren: Brett (Angie) Cooley, Bobbi Jo Saunders, Beth (Ken) Coulson, and Luke Saunders; Great-Grandchildren: Alyssa & Sara Cooley & Grace Coulson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Services will be at the church at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, Ohio. Donations may be made in Betty's memory to Cedarville United Presbyterian Church or the Cedarville Fire Department. The family would like to express their thanks to the employees of Greene Oaks for their years of love and care, and would also like to thanks the employees of Hospice of Dayton for the extra care given to our loved one during this difficult time.
