Fred J. Kaiser Jr., PE, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on November 21, 2010. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Martha J. Kaiser '52, also an Antiochian; children, Carol (Ed) Prebihalo of Columbus, Jim (Cathy) Kaiser of Franklin, Tennessee and Gary Kaiser of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Prebihalo, Brian and Megan Kaiser, and Mike and Tracey Kaiser; brother, Myron (Rose) Kaiser, Boardman, Ohio; many nephews and nieces, especially Ken (Anne) Kaiser of Hilliard.
He was a member of the Indian Run United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II, serving as a flight radio operator in the Air Transport Command of the Army Air Force. He graduated from Antioch College with a B.S. degree in engineering and from Yale University's Bureau of Highway Traffic in 1951.
He was a registered professional engineer in Ohio, Wisconsin and Indiana and served as Assistant Traffic Engineer in Detroit, Michigan; as City Traffic Engineer of Racine, Wisconsin, and as Assistant State Traffic Engineer for the Ohio Department of Highways.
In 1970 he joined the firm of Clyde E. Williams and Associates, consulting engineers, where he was past president of the Ohio Office for many years. He was a Fellow Life member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and past president of the Ohio Section. He was a member of the Engineers Club of Columbus and a past member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Ohio Association of Consulting Engineers.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 at FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE OF DUBLIN, 6000 Riverside Drive, Dublin, OH, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
