Kelda L. Davis Riley '68

Kelda Lyal Riley (nee Davis), of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Monday, May the 12th, 2014. Born May the 17th, 1945 in Fairmont, West Virginia, to the late Lt. Col Willis H. and Vonda V. Davis, formerly of Stephens City, Va. The daughter of Army parents, as a child she lived in Japan, West Virginia, Colorado, Kansas, Washington state, and Alaska. Graduating from East Anchorage High School in 1963, she attended Antioch College and the University of Houston. In 1971 she married John Thomas Riley, her loving husband of 42 years, and after living in San Francisco, Montana, Arizona, and Virginia, they settled in Baltimore in 1984. A voracious reader and lover of words she worked as a Technical Writer and Editor for Harcourt publishing, the Journal of Oil and Gas, and KCI technologies before retiring in 1997. Kelda is survived by her husband John Thomas Riley, her son Owen Riley, her three brothers Mark, Clint, and Walt Davis, and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held at Vaughn C. Greene West, 5151 Baltimore Natl. Pike, on May the 24th at 3:00pm. The family will begin receiving friends and well-wishers at 2:30pm.
