Bob, a thirty seven year Norwalk resident, was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and grew up in New York City. He was a graduate of Antioch College and served in the Army from 1956-1957. He retired in 1998 as President and C.E.O. of Carol Wright Gifts, Inc.
Bob was a long-time member and 2-term president of the Fairfield County Congregation for Humanistic Judaism and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Board of Directors of the Society for Humanistic Judaism. He taught E.S.L for Literacy Volunteers, served as a tax aide with AARP, and, after training with Therapy Dogs International, he and his Greyhound, Harry, made regular visits to residents at Honey Hill Nursing Home in Norwalk. He was also the Conn. State Coordinator for the AARP Driver Safety Program.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ilene, and children Jenny Ginsberg and Peter Libre, Betsy Ginsberg and Larry Sodano, and Seth Ginsberg and Deborah Gerard, and by grandchildren Eloise, Alex, Margo and Max Libre, Adam and Laura Sodano, and Jesse Frank and Lucy Ginsberg. A memorial service will be held September 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
